Soledad Seseña

Born in Madrid, she began her academic training in this city, studying Art History, Architecture, and at the Royal School of Dramatic Arts, later earning a Master's in Scenography between the Faculty of Theatre in Utrecht, Netherlands, and DAMU in Prague, Czech Republic.

However, she soon started working in the film industry, first in short films and then as an art director on films produced by Elías Querejeta, Tornasol Films, Fernando Colomo P.C., Mediapro, El Deseo, and La Zona. She has collaborated with directors such as Fernando León, Joaquín Oristrell, Fernando Colomo, Roberto Santiago, Daniela Fejerman, Chema de la Peña, and Nacho Vigalondo.

The multidisciplinary and ever-changing nature of her profession has led her to develop creative projects outside the audiovisual field. These range from small editions of book-objects to textile collections of kimonos and rugs, as well as floral and botanical compositions. Working with these materials using scenographic techniques—managing space, vanishing points, and their interrelations with light, textures, color, and movement—has guided her toward landscape design on various scales. From portable gardens in small containers to the design of terraces and large-scale gardens, she continues to expand her knowledge in botany through courses at institutions such as the Castillo de Batres Landscape School, La Casa Encendida, and the Landscape Academy.
