Lucas Escobedo López

(ALICANTE, 1983)

Actor, circus artist, and director.

As an actor, he studied at Mar Navarro’s school (Jacques Lecoq) and earned a degree in Dramatic Arts from the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona. He has worked as an actor, juggler, and puppet manipulator in theater, circus, and television fiction productions. His early career as a director led him to collaborate with various companies. He has directed productions such as Potted (2013), Emportats (2015), Seu-te! (2017), Los Viajes de Bowa (2020), Gala Premis de les Arts Escèniques (2019), La Banda (2021), ADEU! (2021), R.E.M. (2023), and Llar (2024) for companies including La Trócola, Acrobàcia Mínima, La Gata Japonesa, Otra Danza, Institut Valencià de Cultura, À Punt TV, and Cía. Federico Menini, among others.

With his own company, he premiered Room 801 (Habitació 801) in 2015, a self-authored production that already combined theater and circus. He later presented Los Mañas (2018), YOLO (2018), produced by Teatre Escalante, Paüra(2021), and Farra (2024), a co-production with the Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico.

He has received awards such as the More Quality Visual Theatre for Europe, the Carpa de Plata at the Circuba Festival, and two FETEN Awards. Both YOLO and Paüra have been recognized as Recommended Shows by the Spanish Network of Theaters and awarded Best Circus Show at the Valencian Performing Arts Awards, where Lucas himself was nominated for Best Direction. Additionally, Paüra was a finalist at the 2022 Max Awards for Best Musical Theater Show.

Raquel Molano Aylagas Graduated in Acting from the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona and later trained in Actor Training at Teatro de la Abadía. She completed her Professional Piano Degree at the Valencia Conservatory and also studied Singing and Percussion. Her work as an actress includes Paüra (2021) and YOLO (You Only Live Once) (2018), both by Cia. Lucas Escobedo, as well as Rumba! (2017) by Mayumana. She was Master of Ceremonies at FIRCO in 2021 and 2022 and received the CIRCUBA Award in 2021. Other notable works include El Embrujado at Teatro de la Abadía, Dance to Death by Alberto Velasco, Les Rois Fainéants by Joan Cusó, as well as various television projects. As a composer and musical director for the performing arts, she debuted in 2018 with YOLO, directed by Lucas Escobedo, winning two FETEN Awards in 2019, including Best Sound Design. She also received two nominations at the 2020 Max Awards, including Best Musical Composition. Later, Paüra was a finalist at the 2022 Max Awards for Best Musical Show. Additionally, she was nominated for Best Musical Composition in 2021 for Paüra and won the award in 2022 for La Banda, by OtraDanza, at the Valencian Performing Arts Awards.
