THE COMPANY

The Lucas Escobedo Company was founded in 2011 following the premiere of its first solo creation, Boiiiing. Its founder, Lucas Escobedo, is a multidisciplinary artist who draws inspiration from both the circus and theater worlds.

His professional beginnings led him to work with various companies, and in 2015, he premiered Room 801, his own creation, at the Mostra de Mim in Sueca. Addressing the topic of mental health through a fully visual approach, the show toured major national and international theaters and festivals and was nominated for Best Circus Show at the Valencian Performing Arts Awards in 2018. That same year, Los Mañas premiered at the Umore Azoka Fair in Leioa, a street performance featuring expressive masks, and he was commissioned to direct the new production of Valencia's Teatre Escalante: YOLO. In this production, he began collaborating with Raquel Molano in direction and musical composition— a collaboration that would become a defining feature of the company: circus, theater, and live music.

YOLO premiered at the Martín i Soler Theater at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia at the end of 2018 to great acclaim and won the Best Large-Scale Show and Best Sound Space awards at the 2019 FETEN Awards. Additionally, it was selected as a Recommended Circus Show in Spain’s National Theater Network catalog, won Best Circus Show at the 2019 Valencian Performing Arts Awards, and was nominated for the 2020 Max Awards for Best Family Show and Best Musical Composition by Raquel Molano. YOLO graced the stages of venues such as Teatros del Canal, Teatro Circo Price, and Teatre Principal de València, among many others, in a three-year-long tour.

In 2021, Paüra premiered and won Best Circus Show at the Valencian Performing Arts Awards. It was also included in Spain’s National Theater Network catalog as a Recommended Theater Show. A year later, Paüra was a finalist for Best Musical or Lyrical Show at the 2022 Max Awards. Currently, Paüra is still on tour, with over 150 performances, having been staged at venues and festivals such as Teatros del Canal, Fira Tàrrega, FETEN 2022, Teatro Circo Price, and Teatro de La Abadía, among many others.

In 2024, the company delved into Spain’s Golden Age, drawing inspiration from its extraordinary texts to create FARRA, a co-production with the Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico, which premiered at the Teatre Principal de València. After its first season there, it moved to Teatro de La Comedia in Madrid. Through verse, music, circus, and humor, FARRA offers a space for celebration, connection, pleasure, and enjoyment. In 2025 Farra receives the award for Best Lyrical Musical Show at the Max Awards 2025.

From the very beginning, the company has embraced risk-taking and exploration in the performing arts, striving to find a balance between humor and emotion. Its goal is to inspire a cathartic experience in the audience—awakening a zest for life, provoking reflection, and fostering transformation.
